Twenty thousand years ago, in the time of the last ice age, a young caveman is separated from his hunting party after falling from a cliff during an expedition. In this journey, the boy finds an injured wolf and carries it to safety. The two form a timeless friendship while they struggle against predators and the elements to return home.
