Facebook looks back on its early days where users logged on to see their friends. People would use the platform to make new connections, wish a loved one a happy birthday and maybe even learn a little bit about Uncle's rock 'n' roll youth. But, according to the social network, a profusion of spam, click bait, fake news and data misuse has threatened to upend these connections and drive users farther apart. To combat this, the site commits itself to keeping its users safe and protecting their privacy, "so we can all get back to what made Facebook good in the first place: friends!"
