Some say that laughter is the best medicine, but struggling comedian Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) can't seem to find the right audience. Roaming the streets of Gotham City in a misanthropic stupor, Fleck endures hoards of criminals and violent thugs, facilitating his ever deepening descent into madness. With only his relationship to a single mother (Zazie Beetz) tethering him to reality, this disaffected entertainer assumes the mantle of the infamous Joker and uses his new persona to confront Murray Franklin (Robert De Niro), a talk show host and object of Fleck's obsession. The Clown Prince of Crime returns to the big screen in "Joker," in theaters Oct. 4, 2019.
