An animated poem tells us that chocolate was once a drink only for the noble classes of the Aztec Empire, where Montezuma drank 50 cups of chocolate a day. Chocolate was produced for the masses in 1847 by Joseph Fry and 90 years later, chocolate bars were sent to soldiers as part of their military rations. Americans have been eating chocolate for centuries and now eat up to 11 lbs. per year, each. Nestle Crunch wishes you a happy "National Chocolate Day."
