When five outsider teens stumble upon a mysterious artifact, they are endowed with superpowers. They eventually discover that they have been chosen by their mentor, Zordon, to become the Power Rangers and use their abilities to save their town of Angel Grove from the extraterrestrial forces of Rita Repulsa.
