Professor of Geology and Microbiology at the Univerity of Illinois Bruce Fouke, explains the importance of coral skeletons in climate change. He says that scientists can use coral skeletons to make predictions of what future temperature changes will be. He shares how the university has been working towards creating a correction factor that will account for any chemical alterations the coral undergoes as it sits at the bottom of the ocean.
